Our new website

Welcome to the City of Cle Elum and our new website. Cle Elum is a very special gateway to a spectacular alpine wilderness, a town steeped in brilliant natural beauty and old world cultural influence.

The City of Cle Elum is known as the "Heart of the Cascades" for its enduring charm and legendary hospitality. Cle Elum is located in Kittitas County, Washington, approximately 80 miles east of Downtown Seattle and is home to approximately 1,900 residents. We are very proud of our "Old Town Commercial District"- the window into our community's rich heritage and diverse history. It provides an excellent setting for financial and professional services, shops, dining and specialty stores. Our new 85-acre Business and Technical Park will soon be under construction.

The rapid growth we have experienced in the past few years has created new challenges for our city. Our website allows us to more effectively communicate with our residents, businesses, and visitors and become a more efficient organization in the way we conduct business.
